Bhupender Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, SJVN congratulated the employees and all stakeholders on the successful completion 72-hour trial run operation of 660 MW Unit2 of 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project in Bihar on 31st August, 2026. Sh. Bhupender Gupta further highlighted that with successful completion of the trial run, the company is now all set for Commercial Operation of Unit-2. Sh. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Director (Personnel), SJVN, emphasized that the successful 72-hour trial run of Unit-2 marks another significant milestone in SJVN’s journey. He congratulated the entire team for their relentless hard work, professionalism and unwavering commitment, despite various challenges. Sh. Parthajit De, Director (Finance), SJVN, also extended his congratulations to all and highlighted that the successful trial run of Unit-2 further strengthens SJVN’s generation portfolio and reinforces its position as a multidimensional energy company contributing to India’s sustainable energy growth. Sh. The 1320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project, being implemented by SJVN Thermal Private Limited (STPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN, is based on state-of-the-art supercritical technology, ensuring higher efficiency and reduced environmental impact. The project comprises two units of 660 MW each and is equipped with advanced emission control technology to minimize its environmental impact.
