Sub: Revision in ESG Score of NHPC by S&P Global
In continuation to earlier letter dated 14.02.2026 and in compliance to Regulation 30 of SEBI
(Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, it is to inform that S&P Global
has updated ESG Score of NHPC Limited as ‘57’ as on 28.08.2026 against the previous ESG score
of ‘61’ awarded in February 2026, based on ‘Media and Stakeholder Analysis’ of Teesta VI HEP
incident held on 20.07.2026. On comparison with previous score (61), the updated total ESG score
(57) involves reduction in score in Social (S) and Governance (G) of ESG, there is no change in the
score of Environment (E).
NHPC Limited has raised its concern with S&P Global and requested appropriate justification
for the deduction in ESG Score.
