This is further to our intimation submitted vide reference No. VISL/SEC./SE/2026-27/26 dated August 14, 2026.
Pursuant to Regulation 30 read with Sub-para (8) of Para (B) of Part (A) of Schedule III of the SEBI (Listing Obligations
and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, as amended (“SEBI LODR Regulations”), it is hereby informed that
ESL Steel Limited (“ESL”), a subsidiary of Vedanta Iron And Steel Limited (“VISL”), has received a Demand-cum-Show
Cause Notice from the Office of the Principal Commissioner, Central Goods and Services Tax & Central Excise, Ranchi
on August 27, 2026 at around 3:24 pm.
As per the said notice, the Department has proposed a recovery of Rs. 39,58,32,544/- comprising IGST of
Rs. 29,16,89,049/-, CGST of Rs. 3,26,41,238/-, SGST of Rs. 3,26,41,238/-, and Cess of Rs. 3,88,61,019/- towards alleged
wrongful availment and utilization of Input Tax Credit (ITC) in relation to credit notes during FY 2020-21 to FY 2022-23,
along with applicable interest and penalty. The notice requires ESL to submit its response within the prescribed
timeline.
ESL is examining the said notice and shall take appropriate steps in accordance with applicable laws within the
prescribed timelines. The Company does not envisage any significant financial and operational impact on the Company.
The details as required to be provided under Regulation 30 and sub-para 8 of Para B of Part A of Schedule III of the SEBI
Listing Regulations, read with SEBI Master Circular No. SEBI circular HO/49/14/14(7)2025-CFD-POD2/I/3762/2026
dated January 30, 2026, are enclosed as “Annexure I”.

of the listed entity, quantifiable in monetary take necessary actions in accordance with applicable
terms to the extent possible laws.
Further, the Company envisages no material impact on
the financial, operations and/ or other activities due to
the said intimation.
