As our nation advances towards the aspiration of Viksit Bharat 2047, India is becoming more formal, more digital, more entrepreneurial and more financially inclusive. Across villages, towns and cities, millions of Indians are seeking the opportunity to build businesses, create livelihoods, acquire productive assets and improve the lives of their families. At Paisalo Digital, we have been privileged to participate in this journey for more than three decades. Since our incorporation in 1992, our purpose has remained remarkably consistent: to bridge the credit gap by connecting India's underbanked and underserved populations, including MSMEs, with the formal financial ecosystem. The methods have changed. Technology has changed. India has changed. But the fundamental need we address remains the same. There are millions of hardworking and enterprising Indians who possess the ability, intent and ambition to progress but who have historically found access to appropriately structured formal credit difficult. Paisalo exists for them. And increasingly, technology is enabling us to reach them faster, understand them better and serve them more efficiently. The global environment remains complex. Geopolitical conflicts, trade tensions, volatile commodity and energy prices, shifting supply chains and uncertainty around interest rates can affect economies and financial markets everywhere. India cannot be completely insulated from these forces. Yet India enters this period with considerable structural strengths: a large domestic economy, expanding digital infrastructure, increasing formalisation, a growing entrepreneurial base and a population with enormous aspirations for economic progress. For Paisalo, perhaps the most important transformation is happening beyond India's largest metropolitan centers. Economic activity is deepening across Tier-2, Tier-3, Tier-4 and Tier-5 towns and rural India. Small entrepreneurs are becoming more connected to the formal economy. Digital payments are creating transaction histories. Technology is making customer identification and underwriting more efficient. And India's financial infrastructure is increasingly making it possible to serve customers whom the traditional financial system historically found expensive or difficult to reach. This creates an enormous opportunity. But opportunity should never become an excuse for imprudence. Financial services is a business where optimism about India must always be accompanied by discipline about risk. At Paisalo, we pursue both. Sunil Purushottanm We will grow, but not at any cost.
