Genesys International Appoints Dhiman Basu Ray as Chief Technology Officer
Former Tech Mahindra Global CTO, Digital Engineering to lead Genesys’
technology strategy as the company advances from Digital Twins to AI-
powered Spatial Intelligence
Mumbai, August 27, 2026: Genesys International Corporation Limited (NSE: GENESYS | BSE:
506109), one of India’s leading geospatial technology companies, today announced the
appointment of Dhiman Basu Ray as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
A technology and digital engineering leader with approximately 26 years of experience,
Dhiman previously served as Global Chief Technology Officer – Digital Engineering at Tech
Mahindra and has held senior leadership roles across leading global technology organisations.
His experience spans artificial intelligence and machine learning, robotics, product and
platform engineering, cloud and data platforms, software-defined vehicles, cybersecurity and
large-scale digital transformation.
Commenting on the appointment and the company’s technology direction and appointment,
Sajid Malik, Chairman and Managing Director, Genesys International, said: “Genesys is
moving from mapping the world to making the physical world computable. What was
historically viewed as mapping is rapidly becoming the spatial intelligence layer through which
governments, enterprises and intelligent machines can understand and make decisions about
the real world.
The rise of Physical AI makes this transition especially relevant. AI systems operating in the
physical world need more than algorithms — they require accurate, three-dimensional and
continuously updated models of their surroundings. Genesys has spent years building the
survey infrastructure, geospatial content and Digital Twin capabilities required to create these
models. Our opportunity now is to convert this foundation into an intelligent, scalable
platform.
Dhiman joins Genesys at an important point in this journey. His experience across AI, robotics,
digital engineering and global product and platform businesses will be invaluable as we build
the technology architecture required to transform geospatial data into continuously updated
spatial intelligence.”
The appointment comes at an important stage in Genesys’ evolution as the company
advances from creating high-precision maps and Digital Twins towards building a broader
Spatial Intelligence layer for the physical economy — enabling governments, enterprises,
machines and AI systems to better understand, simulate and make decisions about the real
world.
On the appointment, Dhiman Basu Ray, Chief Technology Officer, Genesys International,
said, “Genesys has built a differentiated foundation through its high-precision geospatial
content, advanced survey capabilities and 3D Digital Twins. The opportunity now is to bring
together AI, digital engineering and platform thinking to transform these capabilities into a
scalable Spatial Intelligence layer. I look forward to building technology that enables
governments, enterprises and intelligent machines to better perceive, understand and respond
to the physical world, while positioning Genesys at the forefront of the emerging Physical AI
ecosystem.”
Enabling Physical AI through Spatial Intelligence
Over the years, Genesys has built significant capabilities across terrestrial and aerial
surveying, high-definition mapping, three-dimensional geospatial content and city-scale
Digital Twins. The company’s next phase will focus on bringing these capabilities together
within an AI-native technology architecture designed to continuously ingest, process, validate
and interpret spatial data.
The emergence of Physical AI where artificial intelligence systems perceive, reason about and
interact with real-world environments — is creating a growing requirement for accurate,
machine-readable representations of the physical world.
While conventional AI has largely been trained on text, images and other digital information,
Physical AI requires a deeper understanding of space where objects and infrastructure are
located, their three-dimensional form, how they relate to one another and how physical
environments evolve over time.
Genesys’ high-precision mapping and 3D Digital Twin capabilities provide a strong foundation
for this evolution. By combining real-world digital representations with AI, analytics and
continuously updated spatial data, the company intends to develop an intelligence layer
capable of supporting applications across urban governance, infrastructure, utilities, mobility,
autonomous systems and enterprise decision-making.
