With reference to our intimation dated 14.08.2026 and 20.08.2026, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), based on the recommendation dated 09.06.2026 of the Search Committee, approved the proposal of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for appointment of Smt. Bharati Raman Gotarna as Non-official (Independent) Director (NoD) on the Board of The Shipping Corporation of India Limited for a period of 03 year. The appointment of Smt. Bharati Raman Gotarna as Non-official (Independent) Director on the Board of Shipping Corporation of India Limited is effective from 19.08.2026. Consequently, the Company has re-constituted all the Statutory Board- level Committees. Accordingly Stakeholders Relationship Committee and Risk Management Committee are in compliance with the provisions of SEBI Listing Regulations and other applicable Acts, Guidelines, etc w.e.f. 19.08.2026. The Company has also complied with the requirement of having a woman Independent Director on the Board of the Company. It may further be noted that The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. (‘SCI’), being a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) is coordinating with Competent Authority for appointment of requisite number of Independent Directors on its Board in accordance with Regulation 17 of SEBI Listing Regulations. Once the requisite number of Independent Directors are appointed, the Company shall reconstitute Audit Committee and Nomination and Remuneration Committee in compliance with SEBI Listing Regulations. It is only Competent Authority which has powers to nominate Directors on Board of the SCI. The Company is in the process of submitting request letters to both of these Stock Exchanges in this regard.
