EXHICON AND ICICI LOMBARD ANNOUNCE LANDMARK EXHIBITION INSURANCE
INITIATIVE AT 15TH CONVENTIONS INDIA CONCLAVE
First-of-its-kind specialised insurance initiative for India’s exhibition and trade fair ecosystem unveiled
at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi
Exhicon Events Media Solutions Limited (“Exhicon”) and ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company
Limited have announced a landmark initiative to strengthen the Exhibition Insurance ecosystem in India,
bringing specialised risk protection closer to the rapidly expanding exhibitions and trade fairs industry.
The initiative was unveiled at the 15th Conventions India Conclave (CIC) at Bharat Mandapam, New
Delhi, in the presence of leading stakeholders from India’s and the global convention, exhibition, events
and MICE industry.
The three-day 15th Conventions India Conclave brought together the wider convention and events
ecosystem from across India and around the world. The Conclave was jointly organised by the India
Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) and the Ministry of
Tourism, Government of India, with EXHICON as the Gold Partner.
Through the strategic partnership between EXHICON and ICICI Lombard, the two organisations are
working together to create greater awareness, accessibility and adoption of insurance solutions
specifically relevant to exhibitions and trade fairs.
The initiative represents a significant step towards establishing specialised exhibition insurance as an
integral part of professional exhibition management in India.
Exhibitions involve substantial investments in venues, temporary structures, stalls, equipment, logistics,
technology, manpower and other event infrastructure. They also expose organisers, exhibitors and
stakeholders to a range of operational, property, liability, cancellation and other unforeseen risks.
EXHICON, with its extensive presence across exhibitions, trade fairs, exhibition infrastructure, venue
development and event services, brings deep industry understanding and access to a broad ecosystem of
organisers, exhibitors, associations, venues and service providers.
ICICI Lombard brings its insurance expertise and capabilities in designing and servicing commercial and
event-related insurance solutions.
Together, the organisations intend to build a stronger bridge between the exhibition industry and the
insurance sector, encouraging professional risk management across the exhibition lifecycle.
The initiative will focus on:
• Increasing awareness of exhibition-related risks and insurance protection;
• Facilitating access to appropriate insurance solutions for exhibitions and trade fairs;
• Supporting organisers and exhibitors in understanding their risk exposures;
• Encouraging better risk-management practices across the exhibition ecosystem; and
• Creating a scalable insurance framework aligned with the growth of India’s exhibition industry.
M Q Syed, CMD of EXHICON said
“We are particularly proud that this initiative was unveiled at the 15th Conventions India Conclave at
Bharat Mandapam, where the entire convention, exhibition, events and MICE ecosystem came together
from India and across the world. EXHICON is delighted to be the Gold Partner of this important industry
platform.”
With government representatives, convention bureaux, venues, industry associations, professional
organisers, exhibitors and MICE professionals participating in the three-day Conclave, the platform
provided an ideal setting to introduce a new approach towards risk protection for exhibitions and trade
fairs.
