Mumbai, August 24, 2026: Godrej Industries Group has signed a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Government of Haryana, in the presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh
Saini, outlining a future investment plan of approximately ₹20,000 crore in the state, with the
potential to create around 40,000 jobs. The MoU reflects the Group's growing presence in
Haryana and its confidence in the state's long-term economic potential. The proposed
investments will build on the Group's existing footprint in the state. Godrej Industries Group
has invested approximately ₹12,000 crore in Haryana to date and employs around 9,000 people
across its businesses.
Godrej Properties Ltd (GPL) will be a key driver of the Group's investment plans. Having
invested approximately ₹11,000 crore in Haryana to date, GPL plans to invest a further ₹16,000
crore by FY28. The company currently has 18 projects across Gurugram, Sonipat, Faridabad,
Panipat and Kurukshetra, with its future projects expected to create more than 11,000 jobs. The
Group's plans extend beyond residential development. Godrej Ventures, its real estate private
equity business, has invested around ₹1,000 crore in Haryana and plans to invest a further
₹3,500 crore in Grade A+ office infrastructure in Gurugram. Its proposed investments are
expected to generate more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, further strengthening the
city's commercial ecosystem and its attractiveness to multinational companies and GCCs.
Pirojsha Godrej, Chairperson, Godrej Industries Group, said, “Haryana has emerged as an
important growth driver for the Godrej Industries Group. The depth of its economy, the pace of
urbanisation and the emergence of Gurugram as a major commercial and employment hub create
opportunities across several of our businesses. We have invested significantly in the state over the
years and our plans for further investment reflect our confidence in the market and our ability to
build on the presence we have established. We're pleased to formalise this next phase of investment
through our MoU with the Government of Haryana and look forward to working closely with the
state to bring these plans to life. We see Haryana as a market where we can continue to invest for
the long term and participate meaningfully in its economic and urban development.”
Rakesh Swami, Group Head and President – Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group, said,
“We appreciate the ease of doing business and the favourable investment environment the state
government has fostered. This MOU reaffirms our confidence in Haryana as a long-term
investment destination, with opportunities spanning residential and commercial development to the
wider infrastructure and services ecosystem. We value our partnership with the Haryana
Government, and our presence across businesses positions us well to participate in this growth in a
meaningful and long-term manner.”
The Group's wider businesses also have an established presence in Haryana. Godrej Capital
operates five branches in the state and has facilitated approximately ₹550 crore in bookings
through its financing business. Godrej Consumer Products has a network of 42 direct
distributors and more than 250 rural stockists across the state. Alongside its business
investments, Godrej Industries Group has also contributed to community and infrastructure
initiatives in Haryana. The Group spends approximately ₹1 crore annually on CSR initiatives and
more than ₹10 crore on infrastructure-level initiatives in the state. Its work includes
strengthening support systems for construction workers, providing weather-related insurance
and supporting the restoration and beautification of public spaces in Karnal and Kurukshetra.
The Group will continue to work with the Government of Haryana to support the state's
development priorities and enable further investments across its businesses.
