development
Pune, India, 20 August 2026: Varroc Engineering Ltd. (Varroc), a leading global tier-1
automotive supplier, today announced the winner of Eureka Challenge 3.0 - Ignite
Innovation, its flagship engineering innovation competition aimed at nurturing next-
generation engineering talent and encouraging students to develop solutions for real-world
mobility challenges.
The winning team from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune secured the top
position for its innovative solution, “AI-Driven Design Intelligence for Early-Stage CAD
Validation.” The solution uses artificial intelligence to identify design issues and
optimisation opportunities at the early stages of product development, with the potential
to help engineers reduce development cycles, improve design quality and accelerate
innovation.
Commenting on the achievement, Arjun Jain, Director & CEO – Business I, Varroc,
said: “Eureka once again demonstrates the potential of India’s young engineers to solve
for real-world challenges facing mobility. The breadth of applications and quality of
research of this year’s teams reflect the scope of innovation needed to shape the future of

mobility.”
Now in its third edition, Eureka Challenge has emerged as an industry-academia platform
connecting engineering students with real-world challenges faced by the mobility sector.
The 2026 edition received an overwhelming response from engineering students across
India. The challenge generated more than 25,000 registrations from undergraduate and
postgraduate students across disciplines including Computer Science, Electronics,
Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Information Technology, Mechanical,
Automobile Engineering and allied streams.
More than 1,800 ideas were submitted and evaluated through a rigorous multi-stage
screening process. Following multiple rounds of assessment, 27 teams were shortlisted for
the online presentation stage, with the top four teams advancing to the grand finale held
at Varroc. In addition to rewards and industry recognition, the winning team received a
Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) opportunity to join Varroc in 2027, creating a direct pathway
from innovation to an industry career.
As a global mobility technology partner with more than 800 R&D engineers and seven R&D
centres worldwide, Varroc continues to invest in future-ready talent and foster a culture
of innovation. Through initiatives such as Eureka Challenge, the company aims to
