The winning team from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), Pune secured the top position for its innovative solution, “AI-Driven Design Intelligence for Early-Stage CAD Validation.” The solution uses artificial intelligence to identify design issues and optimisation opportunities at the early stages of product development, with the potential to help engineers reduce development cycles, improve design quality and accelerate innovation. The 2026 edition received an overwhelming response from engineering students across India. The challenge generated more than 25,000 registrations from undergraduate and postgraduate students across disciplines including Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Electronics & Telecommunication, Information Technology, Mechanical, Automobile Engineering and allied streams. More than 1,800 ideas were submitted and evaluated through a rigorous multi-stage screening process. Following multiple rounds of assessment, 27 teams were shortlisted for the online presentation stage, with the top four teams advancing to the grand finale held at Varroc.
