NSE Trading Symbol: BALUFORGE Sub: - Press Release – Balu Forge receives multi month contract for 155mm ERFB BB/BT Shells Dear Sir/Madam, Please find enclosed the Press Release regarding receipt of multi month contract for 155mm ERFB BB/BT Shells in the Defence Sector. The details of the same are furnished in the attached Press Release. The above information will also be made available on the website of the Company at www.baluindustries.com. Kindly take the above information on record. Thanking You, Yours Truly, For Balu Forge Industries Limited Jaspalsingh Chandock Managing Director DIN: 00813218 Encl: As above Press Release Balu Forge Industries Ltd receives multi month contract following successful execution of the 155mm ERFB BB/BT Shells Mumbai, Monday, August 17th, 2026 — Balu Forge Industries Ltd (BFIL), a leading precision engineering and manufacturing conglomerate, proudly announces the successful commercialisation, receipt of the first purchase order for this variant from an Indian ammunition player, and flawless execution of the 155 mm Extended Range Full Bore – Base Bleed (ERFB BB) & Extended Range Full Bore - Boat Tail (ERFB BT) shells. The pilot supply will be of 10,000 units after which monthly supplies with mutually agreed quantities will commence. This milestone firmly establishes Balu Forge Industries Ltd as one of the first private entities to successfully commercialise this advanced ammunition variant, marking a watershed moment in the indigenisation of critical defence technologies. The successful commercialisation of the ERFB BB/BT shells validate BFIL’s state-of-the-art forging and machining capabilities and positions the company at the forefront of the global defence supply chain. The Future of Large-Caliber Ammunition: The Extended Range Revolution The commercialisation and execution of the extended range variants is a testament to the company’s relentless pursuit of engineering excellence. This is not just a success for the company but it also represents the future of 155 mm and large-calibre ammunition globally. Modern warfare is defined by standoff capabilities—the ability to strike the enemy before they are within range to strike back. The 155 mm calibre is currently undergoing a renaissance, moving away from sheer volume of fire to extreme range and precision. As part of its major artillery upgrade efforts, the Indian armed forces extensively utilize both the base bleed (BB) and boat tail (BT) variants of the 155 mm ERFB shells. They are actively fired from homegrown systems like the 45-caliber Dhanush—capable of hitting targets 38kilometres away—and the 52-caliber ATAGS, which pushes the ERFB-BB round to an impressive 48-kilometer maximum range. Furthermore, because these projectiles meet standard NATO specifications, they are fully compatible with other key platforms in the Indian arsenal, such as the tracked K9 Vajra-T and the M777 ultra-lightweight howitzers stationed in mountainous border regions. In addition to the domestic consumption is a strong global potential for these variants as well. Long Term Strategy By successfully executing the ERFB BB shell, Balu Forge Industries Ltd has proven its ability to manufacture the highly complex, metallurgically demanding casings required to withstand the immense chamber pressures of modern extended-range firing. Driven by our long-term vision to expand within the defence consumables sector, Balu Forge Industries Ltd (BFIL) is establishing itself as an essential manufacturing partner for global military networks. Having recently secured NATO certification, we have successfully launched the mass production and commercialization of standard 152 mm and 155 mm M107 projectiles in a 'Ready to Fill' state. This high-volume manufacturing takes place at our newly established, fully automated Belgaum facility, which relies on cutting-edge robotics to guarantee military- grade precision. Leveraging this operational momentum, BFIL is now advancing its manufacturing capabilities to include sophisticated, long-range munitions, specifically the 155 mm ERFB BB and BT variants. Through this progressive shift toward next-generation artillery, expansion into multi alloy forgings including aluminium coupled with the strategic expansion of our energetics division, we are steadily moving up the value chain to deliver fully integrated, high-performance tactical solutions to forces worldwide.
