NIBE has been awarded the L2 vendor share of the contract, valued at approximately ₹ 563.35 crore. The contract was formally concluded today in the presence of senior representatives from the Indian Army and NIBE Limited, marking a significant milestone in the Company’s loitering munitions programme and its continued contribution to the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India initiatives in the defence sector. The Vayuastra system is a man-portable, precision-guided loitering munition designed for high-value target engagement with minimal collateral impact. Induction of the system under the FTP route reflects the Indian Army’s emphasis on rapid capability infusion using proven, combat-ready, indigenous platforms.
