MANAGEMENT
COMMENTARY
Dear Shareholders,
I am pleased to present the performance of VIP Clothing Limited for the first quarter of FY27.
We are pleased to report a resilient performance for Q1 FY27, with Revenue from Operations at
₹646.93 million, broadly stable compared to ₹654.49 million in Q1 FY26. EBITDA stood at
₹50.69 million, with EBITDA margin at 7.84%, compared to ₹62.45 million and 9.54%, respectively,
in Q1 FY26. The moderation in operating profitability during the quarter was primarily attributable
to higher raw material prices, which were impacted by the ongoing global geopolitical
environment and conflicts. In response to the prevailing input-cost environment, we have
undertaken appropriate pricing measures from the upcoming quarter, which are expected to
support better cost absorption and gradually improve margin performance. Accordingly, we view
the moderation in Q1 margins as temporary and expect EBITDA margins to stabilise in the range of
8%–9% going forward. Profit After Tax stood at ₹19.12 million, compared to ₹22.22 million in the
corresponding quarter, while PAT margin remained at 2.95%. With the near-term margin pressure
being addressed, our focus remains on building upon the operational and strategic initiatives
undertaken over the past year, with priorities centered around premiumization, category
expansion, deeper distribution and a sharper focus on evolving consumer preferences.
A key area of focus during the period has been the continued strengthening of our product
portfolio. Our premium offerings under Frenchie X have received encouraging consumer response,
while the Yuwa Series is helping us connect with younger consumers through contemporary
designs, colours and product propositions. The response to these newer offerings reinforces our
belief that the next phase of growth will be driven not only by wider distribution, but also by
increasing the value proposition and relevance of our brands across consumer segments.
Our category expansion strategy is also progressing as planned, with women’s innerwear
remaining one of the most important growth opportunities for the Company. We are working
towards the launch and scale-up of our women’s innerwear portfolio during H2 FY27. This initiative
is expected to significantly expand our addressable market and diversify our revenue mix, with the
Company targeting a meaningful increase in the contribution of women’s innerwear over the
coming years. The launch will be supported by our existing distribution network, brand equity and
expanding presence across modern and digital channels.
During the period, we also took an important step towards strengthening our financial platform for
the next phase of growth through the proposed preferential issue of convertible warrants
aggregating approximately ₹47.7 crore. The capital infusion is expected to provide greater
financial flexibility, strengthen working capital and support the Company’s growth initiatives as we
scale our product categories and distribution footprint.
Going forward, our focus will remain firmly on execution. We expect the topline to gradually
improve over the coming quarters, supported by the expansion of our product portfolio, deeper
market penetration and increasing contribution from newer channels and categories. We see
significant headroom to grow through premiumization, expansion into women’s innerwear, deeper
penetration in under-served markets and greater contribution from modern and digital channels.
With these initiatives progressing alongside our focus on operational efficiencies and margin
improvement, we remain confident in our ability to build a stronger, more diversified and
sustainable business while creating long-term value for our stakeholders.
