In view of the particulars given in the Para 1 above, the project proposal interalia including Common Application Form and Part A, B and C were submitted to the MoEF&CC for an appraisal by the EAC under the provision of EIA notification 2006 and its subsequent amendments. 4. The above-mentioned proposal has been considered and recommended by EAC in the 9th meeting held on 17/07/2026. Based on aforesaid discussions and presentation made by the Project Proponent and the Consultant, the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC), in its 9th EAC meeting held on 17th July, 2026, under the provisions of the EIA Notification, 2006 and its subsequent amendments, recommended the proposal for grant of Environment Clearance (EC) to Belkundi Iron & Manganese Ore Mine over an area of 1276.79 Hect. (as per RoR) /1276.949 Hect. (as per DGPS) with restriction of mining in an area of 920.6 ha production capacity 1.8 MTPA Iron Ore and 0.3 MTPA Manganese Ore along with installation of crusher of 100 TPH, 200 TPH capacity and Screening plant of 400 TPH and 200 TPH capacity, by M/s The Orissa Minerals Development Company Limited located at village Belkundi, Nalda, Karakolha, Karakhendra, Uliburu Unit-1, Barbil-7 & 8 and Uliburu R.F in Barbil Tahasil, Sub-Division- Champua, Dist-Keonjhar, Odisha under violation notification S.O. 804(E) dated 14.03.2017 subject certain specific conditions in addition to the existing standard condition applicable for Non-coal mining projects (Annexure - 1). 6. The Ministry has examined the proposal in accordance with the provisions of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Notification, 2006, and its subsequent amendments, and based on the recommendations of the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC), the Ministry hereby accords Environmental Clearance (EC) to Belkundi Iron & Manganese Ore Mine over an area of 1276.79 Hect. (as per RoR) /1276.949 Hect. (as per DGPS) with restriction of mining in an area of 920.6 ha production capacity 1.8 MTPA Iron Ore and 0.3 MTPA Manganese Ore along with installation of crusher of 100 TPH, 200 TPH capacity and Screening plant of 400 TPH and 200 TPH capacity, by M/s The Orissa Minerals Development Company Limited located at village Belkundi, Nalda, Karakolha, Karakhendra, Uliburu Unit-1, Barbil-7 & 8 and Uliburu R.F in Barbil Tahasil, Sub-Division- Champua, Dist-Keonjhar, Odisha under violation notification S.O. 804(E) dated 14.03.2017.
