The project involves civil and hydro-mechanical works, along with associated ancillary and enabling works, required to make the undersluices of the concrete dam at the Sal a I Power Station fully functional and operational. The contract has a duration of 27 months. The Salal Power Station is one of NHPC's key hydroelectric assets. The rehabilitation of its undersluices is expected to enhance the dam's operational efficiency, improve sediment management and further strengthen its long-term safety and reliability. The contract builds on HCC's four-decade legacy of delivering landmark engineering projects across Jammu & Kashmir, including the construction of the 690 MW Salal Hydroelectric Project, commissioned in 1987. In addition, the Company has constructed four projects, Uri-II (240 MW), Kishanganga (333 MW), Nimoo Bazgo ( 45 MW) and Chutak ( 44 MW)-representing a combined installed capacity of 1,352 MW, or approximately 38% of J&K's total installed hydropower capacity. Beyond hydroelectric infrastructure, HCC also built India's first cable-stayed railway bridge at Anji Khad and executed nearly 32 km of tunnels, about 27% of the total tunnel length for the strategically important Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link project, strengthening connectivity for both civilian and defence movement. About HCC: HCC is a business group developing and building responsible infrastructure through next practices. With an engineering heritage of nearly 100 years, HCC has executed a majority of India's landmark infrastructure projects, having constructed 26% of India's Hydro Power generation and 60% of India's Nuclear Power generation capacities, over 4,036 lane km of Expressways and Highways, more than 402 km of complex Tunnelling and 403 Bridges. Today, HCC serves the infrastructure sectors of Transportation, Power and Water. Hindustan Construction Co Ltd Hincon House, LBS Marg, Vikhroli (West).
