JSW Energy adds 1,166 MW Renewable Capacity and 300 MW Inorganic Thermal
Capacity since April 2026; Operational Capacity Reaches 14,920 MW
Mumbai, India — August 10, 2026 – JSW Energy Limited ("the Company") is pleased to announce
the addition of 1,166 MW of renewable capacity since April 2026. With this addition, the
Company has already surpassed 94% of its total organic capacity addition achieved in FY26.
Further, following the recent completion of the Maruti Clean Coal and Power Limited’s
acquisition, JSW Energy's total installed capacity has increased to 14,920 MW. The Company
continues to pursue its dual strategy of scaling clean energy capacity alongside a strong thermal
base that underpins grid reliability and long-term energy security.
Renewable energy now constitutes 60% of the Company's total installed capacity, comprising
3,125 MW of wind, 2,360 MW of solar, 1,696 MW of hybrid and 1,781 MW of hydro. The thermal
portfolio stands at 5,958 MW, taking total installed capacity to 14,920 MW. The Company
remains on track to deliver its 3 GW greenfield capacity addition target for FY2027.
JSW Energy has a total locked-in generation capacity of 32.4 GW, comprising 14.9 GW
operational, 13.5 GW under construction across thermal, hydro and renewables, and a pipeline
of 4.0 GW. The Company also has 29.6 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity, comprising
26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage and 3.2 GWh of battery energy storage. It aims to reach 30
GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030 and achieve carbon
neutrality by 2050.
