The licence has been granted under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, marking a significant milestone in bringing gut microbiome science into mainstream wellness and preventive healthcare. Key details regarding the development are outlined below:  Platform Overview: Biomescan combines whole metagenome sequencing data with a validated bioinformatics pipeline to generate detailed gut microbiome profiles, diversity scores, enterotype classification, functional metabolic assessments, and evidence-based personalized dietary recommendations.  Licence & Classification: The platform is licensed as a wellness and health-information tool (Software as a Medical Device – SaMD) under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, for preventive healthcare and early health risk assessment.  Strategic Objectives & Network Expansion: Building on this milestone, the Company plans to establish a nationwide network of Health & Wellness Centres in collaboration with hospitals, doctors, and healthcare institutions to provide personalized microbiome assessments and preventive care strategies.
