The global economic landscape remains highly uncertain amid the evolving geopolitical dynamics. The West
Asia crisis has added volatility to the global energy prices. Despite mounting global challenges, the Indian
economy has maintained its resilience. Several high-frequency indicators such as domestic auto sales, IIP
and core sector growth point towards healthy economic momentum. On the external front, merchandise
exports have shown improvement in the recent months while resilience in services exports and remittances
has continued. Apart from global uncertainties, the key risks on the domestic front emerge from the poor
monsoon and El Niño weather conditions. Factoring the evolving global as well as domestic scenario, we
project India’s GDP growth to be at 6.7% in FY27.
Fund raising activity in the economy was mixed in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. Commercial
paper issuances rose 18.5% (y-o-y) to Rs 5.4 trillion in Q1 FY27. On the other hand, corporate bond
issuances were sharply lower by 29.3% (y-o-y) at Rs 2.5 trillion. The lingering global market uncertainties
and elevated yields on corporate bonds have likely incentivised large industries to prefer bank credit as a
source of funding. Bank credit growth accelerated to 18.6% (y-o-y) as of end-June 2026 compared to 9.5%
in the same period a year ago. Industrial bank credit growth accelerated to 19.2% (y-o-y) compared to
6.3% a year ago. More specifically, credit to large industries grew sharply by 16.6% (y-o-y) from just 2.0%
last year. Services sector credit growth also strengthened to 21.4% (y-o-y) compared to 8.8% last year.
Overall, the domestic economy has held up relatively well in the fiscal year so far. However, persistent
global uncertainties and potential El Niño conditions continue to pose risks to the domestic growth and
inflation outlook.
Note: Data on corporate bond issuances includes public issues and private placements. This data was
extracted from Prime Database on August 4th, 2026.
Commenting on the results for Q1 FY27, Mehul Pandya, Managing Director & Group CEO of
CareEdge, said:
“FY27 commenced on a positive note for CareEdge Group despite the challenging macroeconomic and
geopolitical environment. On a standalone basis, revenue from operations for Q1 FY27 registered a robust
16.5% year-on-year growth, while at the consolidated level, revenue grew by 18.9% over the same period
supported by improved performance by subsidiaries. The profitability at standalone and consolidated levels
also reflected healthy growth.
This performance has been primarily driven by a healthy uptick in ratings business across the segments. Our
non-ratings businesses continued their momentum of providing a good contribution in the consolidated
performance.
While we are encouraged by the robust performance in Q1 FY27, we reiterate that the Company’s financial
performance should be evaluated on an annual basis, rather than on a QoQ or sequential basis.
