Thursday, August 06, 2026 (NSE: SETL | BSE: 544333)
Standard Engineering Technology Limited (“SETL” or “the Company”), one of India's leading high
precision engineering companies, today announced its financial results for the first quarter of
FY27, reporting another quarter of record performance alongside two landmark strategic
initiatives that mark a decisive step in the Company's transformation into a diversified,
technology-led precision engineering platform.
The Company delivered robust, broad-based growth across its core engineering business —
anchored in pharma and chemical engineering — even as it continued to invest meaningfully in
new growth platforms for the future. Alongside this quarter's results, SETL announced its
strategic entry into India's fast-emerging AI Datacenter Infrastructure market through the
proposed acquisition of up to 51% equity in GScale Energy Private Limited, and deepened its
decade-long technology partnership with GL Hakko Co., Ltd. of Japan through a strategic equity
investment. Together, these two initiatives extend SETL's footprint into AI infrastructure,
advanced glass-lining technologies and semiconductor-linked applications, reinforcing the
Company's evolution into a diversified, globally competitive engineering and technology
platform.

Strategic and Business Highlights
1. Strategic Entry into AI Datacenter Infrastructure
During the quarter, the Company announced its strategic entry into India's AI Datacenter
Infrastructure market through the proposed acquisition of up to 51% equity in GScale Energy
Private Limited. The transaction establishes a second growth engine for SETL and forms part of
an approximately Rs. 500 crore self-funded capital programme to build an integrated AI
datacenter engineering and manufacturing platform.
The combined platform will deliver end-to-end, mission-critical infrastructure solutions
spanning power distribution, backup power systems, liquid and air-cooling infrastructure,
prefabricated engineering modules, and turnkey datacenter delivery. By combining GScale's
datacenter engineering expertise and customer relationships with SETL's manufacturing
capabilities, engineering excellence, and execution platform, the Company is well positioned to
address the rapidly increasing localisation requirements of AI and hyperscale datacenter
infrastructure in India, while expanding into a large and high-growth engineering market.
Onboarding of teams, machinery ordering, design finalisation and construction of the Company's
large-scale manufacturing facility for this business are all progressing on schedule, and early
engagement with prospective datacenter clients has been highly encouraging, giving
management full confidence in the opportunity ahead.
2. Strategic Investment in GL Hakko, Japan
During the quarter, the Company strengthened its global technology platform through a strategic
investment of Rs. 71.5 crore to acquire an initial 19.19% equity stake in GL Hakko Co., Ltd., Japan,
with the right to increase ownership to 51.07% over the 3 years at the same pre-agreed valuation.
Founded in 1955, GL Hakko brings over 70 years of expertise in advanced glass-lining technology
and has delivered more than 20,000 units globally, establishing itself as a recognised technology
leader in the industry. The partnership gives SETL access to proprietary technologies, including
conductivity glass, glass-lined shell-and-tube heat exchangers and semiconductor-grade
process equipment, meaningfully strengthening the Company's technology portfolio and product
differentiation. It also expands SETL's combined addressable market to over US$3.5 billion, while
supporting GL Hakko's targeted revenue scale-up to Rs. 400 crore (US$42.0 million) through
capacity expansion and manufacturing investment.
Building on a technology collaboration between the two companies spanning almost a decade,
this investment reinforces SETL's long-term strategy of accelerating growth through technology-
led partnerships, enhancing global competitiveness, and expanding into higher-value
engineering applications and new international markets.
3. Backing the Vision: Existing Shareholder Increases Investment
To support its long-term growth strategy, the Board approved a preferential allotment
aggregating approximately Rs. 136.5 crore, comprising Rs. 71.5 crore through a cash issue to
strategic investors AGI Group Holdings Inc. (Japan) and Monoflus Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), along
with approximately Rs. 65.0 crore through a share swap with Truplusco India LLP as part
consideration for the proposed acquisition of a controlling stake in GScale Energy Private
Limited. The proposed capital raise is expected to strengthen the Company's balance sheet while
facilitating its strategic expansion into AI datacenter infrastructure, subject to shareholders' and
requisite regulatory approvals.
Key Financial Highlights — Q1 FY27
• Total Income stood at Rs. 252.2 crore, registering 41.5% year-on-year growth
• EBITDA came in at Rs. 44.1 crore, up 27.3% year-on-year, with an EBITDA margin of 17.5%
• Profit Before Tax (PBT) stood at Rs. 36 crore, reflecting a 26.5% year-on-year increase
• Profit After Tax (PAT) stood at Rs. 26.7 crore, up 26.6% year-on-year, with a PAT margin
of 10.6%
This performance was delivered even as the Company continued to invest in its new growth
businesses — GScale and the GL Hakko partnership — underscoring the underlying strength,
discipline and cash-generating capacity of SETL's core operations.
Two Engines of Growth
SETL's growth strategy rests on two engines running in parallel. The first is the Company's core
engineering business — already strong and proven — which is expected to grow 40–50% this
year to reach approximately Rs. 1,200 crore. The second is GScale, the Company's new AI
Datacenter Infrastructure business, which is expected to contribute approximately Rs. 250 crore
this year. Together, the two engines position SETL to compound growth at scale while diversifying
its long-term revenue base.
