Managing Director’s Commentary
“The first quarter of FY27 presented significant challenges for the polymer industry, both in
India and globally. Geopolitical developments around the Strait of Hormuz created
considerable disruption across global supply chains, resulting in heightened volatility in the
availability and pricing of energy and key raw materials.
Our strategy of diversifying sourcing and reducing dependence on any single geography
enabled Styrenix to navigate these disruptions effectively. This approach, combined with
the agility and dedication of our teams, ensured continuity of supply to our customers
throughout the quarter. Despite an extremely volatile operating environment, we were
able to avoid declaring force majeure through close collaboration with our suppliers and
customers. The strength of our long-standing partnerships and the trust we have built over
many years once again proved to be one of our greatest competitive advantages.
The sharp movements in raw material prices did lead to some temporary demand
moderation, particularly in the non-OEM segment, as customers adjusted to the rapidly

changing pricing environment. We believe this impact is transitory, and demand should
recover as input costs and product pricing stabilize. Looking ahead, we remain focused on
executing our long-term growth strategy. Our expansion plans continue to progress as
scheduled, and we expect the first phase of our ABS capacity augmentation to be
commissioned during the current financial year. This expansion will strengthen our ability
For Border to serve growing customer demand.”
