For Deccan Gold Mines Limited Subramaniam Sundaram Company Secretary & Compliance Officer Membership No.: A12110 PRESS RELEASE Deccan Gold Mines Signs Strategic MoU with CSIR-CECRI to Advance Critical Minerals Processing and Battery Materials Research Bengaluru, July 28, 2026: Deccan Gold Mines Limited (BSE: 512068), India's first and only listed gold and critical minerals resource company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI), Karaikudi, one of India's foremost scientific institutions in electrochemical science, advanced materials and energy storage technologies. The collaboration marks an important step in Deccan Gold's strategy to build an integrated critical minerals business by combining scientific research, advanced mineral processing and downstream value addition to support India's growing strategic minerals ecosystem. Under the Memorandum of Understanding, Deccan Gold and CSIR-CECRI will jointly undertake research and technology development in areas including nickel extraction from nickel-PGE ores, beneficiation and hydrometallurgical process development, nickel-carbon battery materials, and value- addition technologies for lithium concentrates from the Company's Mozambique operations. The collaboration will also facilitate project-specific research programmes, technology validation and future commercialisation opportunities. Established in 1953, CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI) is one of India's premier national laboratories under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Internationally recognised for its work in electrochemistry, mineral processing, metallurgy, advanced materials and energy storage, CECRI has pioneered several indigenous technologies, including India's first Lithium-Ion battery fabrication technology. The institute continues to play a pivotal role in developing next-generation battery materials, electrochemical processes, mineral beneficiation technologies and industrial-scale technology transfer, supporting India's ambitions in clean energy, advanced manufacturing and strategic materials. Commenting on the development, Dr. Hanuma Prasad Modali, Managing Director, Deccan Gold Mines Limited, said: "Critical minerals will define the industrial and technological landscape of the 21st century. Nations that lead in scientific innovation, mineral processing and downstream value addition - not merely resource extraction - will shape the global supply chains of the future. India has both the geological potential and scientific capability to emerge as a global leader in this space. Our collaboration with CSIR-CECRI brings together world-class research and responsible resource development to accelerate indigenous technologies, strengthen downstream capabilities and help build a globally competitive critical minerals ecosystem that advances India's resource security, clean energy ambitions and economic resilience." This collaboration reinforces Deccan Gold's long-term vision of building an integrated critical minerals platform that extends beyond exploration and mining into technology-led mineral processing, advanced materials and downstream applications. By combining industry expertise with one of India's foremost scientific research institutions, the Company aims to contribute meaningfully to the development of resilient domestic supply chains for strategic minerals critical to the nation's energy transition and advanced manufacturing ambitions.
