Business Outlook
Commenting on the business environment, Mr. M. P. Taparia, Chairman & Managing
Director, said:
“The first quarter of FY27 was impacted by extraordinary volatility in polymer prices, particularly
the abnormal downward price movement witnessed during April, which triggered inventory
correction across the value chain. While this affected industry volumes during the quarter, we
believe this is a temporary phenomenon. With polymer prices returning to more stable levels,
removal of customs duty exemption w.e.f. 16th July and effecting Minimum Import Prices (MIP)
for suspension Grade PVC Resin, Company expects improved business momentum in the
coming quarters as channel inventories normalize and demand conditions recover. With our
diversified product portfolio, strong brand equity, wide distribution network and continued focus
on operational efficiency, our Company remains well placed to participate in India’s medium and
long-term growth opportunities.
India remains one of the fastest-growing major economies, supported by infrastructure
development, urbanization, water management projects and expansion of gas distribution
networks. The Company believes these structural growth drivers will continue to support demand
for its products over the medium and long term.”
India's expanding network of FTAs covering UAE, Australia, EFTA nations, the UK, the EU and
other strategic markets provide a significant opportunity for Supreme Industries to enhance its
export footprint. The Company is investing in product development, certifications and market
access initiatives to leverage these trade agreements and scale exports meaningfully over the
next few years.
The Plastic Piping Systems business continues to strengthen its leadership position through
product innovation and capacity expansion. Total installed capacity in this division has reached
to one million MT per annum and Company has introduced several advanced products including
PERT Pipe Systems, Electrofusion Olefin Fittings, Industrial Valves and PP Silent Pipe Systems.
The successful integration of the Wavin business further enhances the Company's technology
and product capabilities.
The Material Handling business continued to perform steadily, supported by customized product
offerings and deeper customer engagement. The Company has also commenced production of
PP Bubble Guard Sheets, creating additional opportunities across industrial packaging and
material handling applications.
The Composite Cylinder business expanded its customer base with the addition of Bharat
Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) in previous year and successfully participated in the
recently concluded bid of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL). Now all three Oil
marketing Companies have started procuring Composite LPG cylinders for domestic requirement
which paves the way for better capacity utilisation. The division has also commenced supplying
cascades for CNG applications and continues to expand its presence in international markets.
The Company has launched its new uPVC Windows & Doors business vertical, receiving
encouraging market response. The project incorporates advanced European technology and is
expected to support long-term growth in the building products segment.
Company’s packaging segment consisting of Cross Laminated film & products thereof, Protective
Packaging Products and Performance Packaging Film is faring well and is on the path of
moderate growth. Its consumer product segment continues to drive brand value creation with
sustainable margins and Return on Capital Employed.
The Company continues to invest in capacity expansion across key businesses and is
progressing with plans to establish manufacturing facilities at new locations including Bihar,
Jammu and Malanpur (near Gwalior). The Company is also in the process of acquiring additional
Land at Puducherry and Erode and will create additional manufacturing set up. Supreme
maintains robust financial position enabling the Company to fund its growth plans, capital
expenditure and working capital requirements through internal accruals.
