Dear Sir/Madam,
Sub: Reply to clarification sought by Stock Exchanges
This is with reference to the clarification sought by the Stock Exchanges dated November 02,
2026 in relation to the media report titled “AU Bank probes potential data leak”.
In this regard, we wish to clarify that the Bank became aware (on October 29, 2026) about a
potential data leakage incident involving a third-party Software-as-a-Service (“SAAS”) platform.
This platform, which is hosted and managed by a reputed global third-party vendor, is used for
onboarding Bank’s vehicle loan customers and contains customers’ information obtained at the
time of loan onboarding.
Based on the preliminary findings so far, the incident may have resulted in data leakage of some
of the Bank’s vehicle loan customers. The Bank is undertaking a detailed internal and external
forensic investigation, with the help of leading cyber security firms, to ascertain the nature and
extent of potential data leakage (there are ~28.5 lacs vehicle loan customers onboarded through
this platform).
The Bank’s other systems remain unaffected, and all services are operating normally. The
incident does not have any impact on the Bank’s business operations, financial performance or
business continuity. We hereby reaffirm to all stakeholders that customer protection continues
to be our highest priority.
The matter has been reported to regulatory authorities including the Reserve Bank of India and
CERT-In in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
The Bank continues to closely monitor the situation and will make further disclosures, if required,
in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
This is for your information and records.
Thanking You,
Yours faithfully,
For AU SMALL FINANCE BANK LIMITED
