The order is for First of Production Model (FOPM) units, valued at approx. EUR 65,000. On successful acceptance of the FOPM units, the customer has the option to place an order, for a total potential value of approx. EUR 13 million. The order marks the seeker’s entry into an export loitering munition programme and positions it for series supply following qualification. The seeker combines day and thermal imaging with stabilisation and onboard target tracking in a compact package. It is designed for loitering munitions, precision-guided munitions and interceptor drones where size, weight, power and cost are critical. “The seeker is among the most demanding sub-systems in a loitering munition. It has to see, stabilise and track a target in a package small and rugged enough to fly. This order from a state-owned company in Europe shows that an EO/IR seeker designed and built end-to-end in India can meet the standards of an export loitering munition programme. Delivering these first production units to the customer’s satisfaction is our immediate priority, and we see this as the beginning of a long-term relationship.
