Additional Secretary & Financial Advison Ministry of Steel and Director, SAIL Ms. Sarita Chauhan is a senior civil servant belonging to 1999 batch of the Indian Administrative Service, AGMUT Cadre. She holds a Bachelors' degree in Textile Engineering and brings over 27 years of extensive experience spanning both State and Central Government roles. At present, she is serving as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Over the years, Ms. Sarita Chauhan has handled a wide range of portfolios covering personnel administration, administrative reforms, e-govemance, education, environment, labour, social welfare, law and justice, tourism, industries, agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, power, urban development and district administration. Her diverse administrative exposure has placed her in several key policy and implementation roles at both the Central and Cadre levels. In the State of Jammu & Kashmir, she served as District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, where she led district administration in land revenue management and delivery of development programmes. As Secretary of various departments for over 10 years in the State, Ms. Sarita has experience in the areas of policy, planning and institution building. In the Government of India, as Joint Secretary and Additional Secretaiy, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Ms.. Sarita has worked in Digitalization of Governance, through e-Govemance reforms for citizen empowerment and citizen centric governance. The assignment gave her exposure to national-level policy and programme implementation. Since September 2026, Ms Sarita Chauhan has assumed the position of Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Steel, where she oversees financial administration and advises on fiscal matters relating to the steel sector. She is also serving as Government Director on the Board of NMDC Steel Limited. PROFILE OF SHRI VINOD KUMAR TRIPATHY,J OINT SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF STEEL & DIRECTOR,S AIL Shri Vinod Kumar Tripathi, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Government of India, belongs to Indian Railway Service of Engineers (IRSE-1995). He is a Civil Engineering graduate from IIT Roorkee. He has accomplished Advance Management courses from NAIR Baroda, INSEAD Singapore and Leadership and Governance Centre (Iclif) Kuala Lumpur. He has also got training in Strategic Management from ISB Hyderabad. Shri Tripathy has versatile experience in Administration, Management and Engineering. This includes management of Public Sector Enterprises, Public Policy, Projects, Operations, Technological Advancement, Procurement & Inventory Management and Human Resource Management.
