Q2/H1-FY27 Operational Highlights
Tyre Cord Fabric (Reinforcement)
• Auto sector delivered strong performance during the quarter. Passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles
were key growth drivers, benefiting from festive demand. Deficit monsoon, high inflation and rising interest
rates could impact demand in next two quarters.
• While NTCF demand remained healthy, sales in Q2 impacted due to surge in imports.
• Margins impacted due to pricing pressure and volatility in raw material & fuel prices. War situation,
geopolitical uncertainty and crude prices may influence demand and margins in near term.
• PTCF approval process moving in desired direction with commercial sales expected to start in Q4 FY27
Yarn
• Festive season demand supported higher sales volume of nylon filament yarn during the quarter.
• Continued imports of base and lower grade yarns from China at low prices and high volatility in raw material
prices impacted margins.
• Focus continues on better margin Value Added Products, with addition of capacity during Q2.
Raw Materials / Power & Fuel costs
• Q2 remained challenging due to high volatility in raw material prices.
• Power cost increased due to increase in grid power tariff at Bharuch and higher LNG rates. To mitigate the cost,
we are in the process of increasing hybrid power capacity. The benefit will start in Q4 FY27.
• Margins normalized in Q2 compared to Q1, which had benefitted from low cost opening stocks.
