CHAIRPERSON’S COMMENTS Commenting on the performance, Mr. Vishal Sharma, Chairperson, Astec LifeSciences Limited, said: The demand across key agrochemical markets worsened due to adverse weather conditions in certain regions, elevated channel inventories, and cautious procurement by customers. We are seeing the El Niño impact and that combined with poor rainfall in many parts of India has led to a demand weakening. Export sales were further impacted by channel destocking, overall pricing pressure, and weaker demand across select export markets as the overall sentiment is one of caution. Astec reported consolidated income of ₹72.6 crore in Q2 FY27 versus ₹74.8 crore in Q2 FY26. The Company’s EBITDA was (₹19.2 crore) in the quarter as compared to an EBITDA of (₹5.6 crore) in the same period last year. Performance was impacted by lower volumes in its key enterprise products, reduced realizations and elevated input costs due to pricing pressures. In addition, ongoing geopolitical uncertainties have resulted in continued volatility in raw material prices, necessitating an inventory write down of Rs. 3 crore to net realizable value. Revenue from Enterprise Products stood at ₹57 crore in Q2 FY27, as compared to ₹61 crore in Q2 FY26, primarily led by lower volumes in its key enterprise molecules and reduced realizations. Revenue from CDMO Products grew by 15% y-o-y to ₹15 crore in Q2 FY27 compared to ₹13 crore in Q2 FY26. The Company is focused on expanding its growth platform through enhanced business development efforts and new product introductions, alongside ongoing initiatives to improve capacity utilizations, optimize costs, and strengthen operational performance.
