The first 5 months of the current year have also seen the production falling by 1.5 over CPLY with China registering degrowth of 3.8% with marginal increase in production in Rest of the World (RoW). • Despite reduction in its own production, China continues to dominate the global production numbers. In fact, the share of China in the global production has been consistently more than 50% of the global production. The production by China stood at ~53.7% of global production during Jan-May CY’26. The production in China during the period has, however, been at lower by 3.8% over CPLY. • Among the other major producers, Vietnam (26.8%),Germany (8.8%), India (7.7%), Turkey 6.8%), USA (6.8%) and South Korea (2.7%) have registered positive growth in production during Jan-May CY’26 over CPLY. On the other hand, countries like Russia (10.0%), Brazil (1.9%) and Japan (0.7%) have registered negative growth during the period. The post COVID recovery was subsequently impacted by factors like inflation. Second Advance Estimates for the FY’25 stand at 6.5% which is substantially lower than earlier projections with First Advance Estimates for FY’26 at 7.4%. Despite projections for future years coming down in the range of 6.4% - 7.2%, India is likely to remain amongst the fastest growing major economies. The projections have been reduced to 6.6% for FY27. The quarterly projections for RBI (Jun’26) 6.6% (FY27) Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 FY27 stand at 6.6%, 6.3%, 6.5% and 6.8% respectively.
