(Hons.) degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce and is a Chartered Accountant qualified from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He was associated with S. R. Batliboi & Co., an EY member firm, for more than 43 years and retired as a Senior Partner on June 30, 2019. During his professional career, he held several senior leadership positions, including Head of Risk Management, Regulatory Head, Head of Independence and Compliance, and Professional Practice Head (Technical Head). He has extensive experience in providing accounting, advisory and other professional services to companies across various sectors, including metals and mining, oil and gas, fertilizers, power and utilities, automobiles, industrial and consumer products, telecommunications, software, real estate, hospitality and infrastructure. He has also served as a Special Invitee Member/Co-opted Member of the Accounting Standards Board and the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board of the ICAI in various years. He was conferred the Times Business Icons North 2026 award for Excellence in Chartered Accountancy.
