Press Release
Mumbai, October 7, 2026
BMC Partners with Godrej Properties and RC Group to Develop First Phase of The
Bayside Promenade at Bandra Bay
First phase at Bandra Bay will add landscaped bayside greenery, anchored by a signature
promenade, garden, and lifestyle hub
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), in partnership with Godrej
Properties Limited (GPL) (BSE scrip id: GODREJPROP) and RC Group, has announced
the first phase of a landscaped bayside promenade at Bandra Bay, a key step in BMC’s
broader vision to shape it into a premier waterfront district.
The initiative will transform the currently underused land along the bay into a lush,
verdant bayfront that enriches the character of the neighbourhood. The first phase
brings together three key spaces: a bayside walking track; a bayside garden with
sweeping landscaped lawns; and a lifestyle hub combining a pet park, literature zone,
and amphitheatre. The second phase will introduce a mini golf course set amid lush
greens, along with a separate, dedicated activity and sports zone.
Shri Vishwas Mote, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Zone III), BMC, said, “Bandra’s
waterfront is among Mumbai’s finest natural assets, and our endeavour is to make it more
vibrant and usable for citizens, in keeping with the larger Bandra Bay promenade vision.
The development at Bandra Reclamation will give the entire neighbourhood spaces where
people can walk, spend time with their families, and engage with their communities. We are
pleased to partner with Godrej Properties and RC Group in bringing this vision to life.”
Mr. Rohit Mohan, Chief Design & Sustainability Officer, Godrej Properties, said,
“Bandra Bay is an opportunity to thoughtfully enhance one of Mumbai’s most distinctive
waterfronts and create a richly landscaped public realm that brings people closer to nature.
Our focus has been on ensuring that every element responds to its context, is purposeful in
its use, and is designed for durability and ease of maintenance. Sustainability is integral to
the way Godrej Properties approaches design and development, and this initiative allows us
to extend that thinking to the Bandra waterfront. In partnership with the BMC and RC
Group, we hope to create a well-designed, enduring destination that adds value to the
neighbourhood and becomes a meaningful part of Mumbai’s everyday life for years to
come.”
Anup Singh, Head Design & Regulatory, RC Group, said, “With community aspirations
forming an important part of the design process, Bandra Bay is envisioned to become a new
landmark for the neighbourhood and an example of how thoughtful landscape design,
environmental sensitivity, and community participation can come together to create
meaningful public spaces for Mumbai. The initiative reflects the importance of public-
private collaboration between the BMC, Godrej Properties, RC Group, and the wider Bandra
community in creating high-quality urban infrastructure and public spaces.”
Through this collaboration, BMC, Godrej Properties, and RC Group aim to transform
and elevate Bandra’s waterfront, creating a lasting landmark that enhances the
neighbourhood for residents and visitors alike.
