Laser Power & Infra secures ₹72.76 crore HTLS
reconductoring order from POWERGRID
First commercial HTLS conductor order marks a major breakthrough in the Company’s
technology-led transmission journey
Kolkata, October 05, 2026: Laser Power & Infra Limited (“LPIL” or “the Company”) (BSE:
544822, NSE: LASERPOWER), a leading integrated power infrastructure company, has secured
contracts aggregating to ₹72.76 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for the
supply of High Temperature Low Sag (“HTLS”) conductors and the reconductoring of two existing
132 kV transmission lines under the North Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-XXIV (NERES-
XXIV).
The project covers approximately 164 circuit-km of existing transmission corridors and is to be
completed within 12 months from the Notification of Award.
The award represents Laser Power’s first commercial order for the supply of HTLS conductors,
marking the transition of its HTLS technology from product development and qualification to
commercial execution. Through its licensing arrangement with TS Conductor, USA, the Company
has access to an advanced conductor platform. Participation in this specialised segment involves
significant product-testing, utility qualification and execution requirements.
The integrated nature of the POWERGRID mandate, covering both conductor supply and
reconductoring services, brings together Laser Power’s capabilities across engineering,
manufacturing, supply, installation and commissioning. It provides the Company with an
opportunity to take advanced conductor technology from manufacturing through to on-ground
execution.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Deepak Goel, Chairman and Managing Director, Laser
Power & Infra Limited, said:
“This order is a watershed moment in Laser Power’s journey. It translates nearly 18 months of
focused work across product development, testing, qualification and execution readiness into our
first commercial HTLS conductor order. More importantly, it gives us an entry into a specialised
segment of transmission infrastructure where technology access is only the starting point. Product
qualification, utility acceptance and execution capability are equally critical.
Our HTLS platform has been designed to address several practical requirements of transmission
modernisation. It can support higher power transfer through existing corridors while managing
thermal sag and has the potential to offer benefits in conductor efficiency, transmission losses and
installation.
Successful execution of this project will give Laser Power an important milestone which strengthens
our ability to participate in future HTLS and reconductoring opportunities. We believe advanced

conductor technologies can progressively reshape how utilities upgrade existing transmission
corridors, particularly where right-of-way constraints make the development of new lines difficult.
This order is therefore significant beyond its immediate value. Together with our recent entry into
underground EHV EPC through the CESC project, it reflects Laser Power’s broader strategy of
building capabilities across advanced transmission technologies. These milestones are advancing
our evolution from a transmission-products manufacturer into an integrated technology and EPC
partner capable of addressing India’s evolving grid requirements. We believe this combination of
differentiated technology, manufacturing capability and project execution can broaden our
addressable opportunity and create new avenues for sustainable growth and long-term value
creation.”
