Subject: Clarification/Confirmation on news item appearing in
"https://www.ndtvprofit.com”
Dear Sir/Madam,
This is with reference to your communication seeking clarification/confirmation on the news item
published on the website of NDTV Profit on September 22, 2026, captioned “SpiceJet Under
Financial Scrutiny as DGCA Reviews Airline's Finances, Says Ram Mohan Naidu”, and the
consequent movement in the price of the Company’s securities.
In this regard, the SpiceJet Limited (“Company” or “SpiceJet”), after due examination of the matter,
wishes to clarify as under:
Query No. 1: With respect to the news item and the reference to DGCA monitoring/review:
Response: The Company is aware of the regulatory monitoring/review by the Directorate General of
Civil Aviation (“DGCA”) concerning the broader operational and financial position of the airline.
The Company would like to clarify that the aforesaid regulatory monitoring should not be construed
or represented as a new declaration or finding of safety concerns against the Company. DGCA
routinely undertakes safety audits, surveillance and spot checks of airlines as part of its regulatory
oversight. SpiceJet has also undergone various such regulatory exercises in the past.
During 2024, DGCA conducted 266 spot checks on SpiceJet as part of enhanced surveillance,
following which SpiceJet was removed from the enhanced surveillance regime after the identified
deficiencies were suitably rectified.
Further, during 2025, SpiceJet was the only airline which recorded zero Level 1 findings in DGCA
safety audits. In addition, the Company successfully renewed its IATA Operational Safety Audit
(IOSA) certification in March 2025, following a comprehensive international audit of its operational
management and control systems, with the certification being valid until March 2027.
Accordingly, the current regulatory monitoring/review relating to the Company’s broader operational
and financial position may not be equated with, or represented as, a fresh finding of safety
deficiencies against the Company.
Query No. 2: Whether such negotiations were taking place? If so, you are advised to provide the
said information along with the sequence of events in chronological order from the start of
negotiations till date.
Response: The Company is not aware of any negotiations, arrangements or transactions of the nature
referred to in the aforesaid news item which have not already been disclosed to the Stock Exchanges
and which require disclosure under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure
Requirements) Regulations, 2015 (“SEBI LODR Regulations”).

Query No. 3: Whether you/company are aware of any information that has not been announced
to the Exchanges which could explain the aforesaid movement in the trading?
Response: The Company is not aware of any material information, event or development relating to
the aforesaid news item, other than information already available in the public domain or disclosed by
the Company to the Stock Exchanges, which in the opinion of the Company requires disclosure under
Regulation 30 of the SEBI LODR Regulations and which could explain the movement in the trading
of the Company’s securities.
The movement in the market price of the Company’s securities is market-driven, and the Company is
not in a position to comment on the specific reasons for such movement.
Query No. 4: In case of regulatory / legal proceedings please provide the information on
initiation / outcome of the proceedings.
Response: As stated above, the Company is subject to the regulatory oversight and monitoring of
DGCA in the ordinary course of its operations. The Company is not aware of any new regulatory or
legal proceeding arising specifically from the aforesaid news item which has not already been
appropriately disclosed to the Stock Exchanges, wherever required under applicable laws.
Query No. 5: Reason for non-disclosure under Regulation 30:
Response: Since the matters referred to in the aforesaid news item, to the extent known to the
Company, do not constitute any new material event or information requiring disclosure under
Regulation 30 of the SEBI LODR Regulations, there was no separate disclosure required to be made
by the Company to the Stock Exchanges in relation thereto.
The Company has at all times endeavoured to comply with its disclosure obligations under the SEBI
LODR Regulations and continues to make disclosures to the Stock Exchanges as and when required
under the applicable regulatory framework.
The Company reiterates that safety and regulatory compliance remain non-negotiable priorities
for SpiceJet and the Company continues to cooperate with the regulatory authorities and comply with
all applicable requirements.
This clarification is being submitted to the Stock Exchanges in response to the aforesaid query and for
dissemination to the investors and other stakeholders.
This is for your information and further dissemination.
Thanking you,
Yours truly,
For SpiceJet Limited
