Capital Trust’s A-Eye powered gold loan business moves from pilot to platform
Six branches live | ₹5-6 Cr monthly disbursements | Built-in controls for valuation, custody and cash risk
New Delhi, 5 October 2026: Capital Trust Limited (BSE: 511505 | NSE: CAPTRUST), a listed NBFC with
over 40 years of lending history, today released a business update on its gold loan business and the
technology that runs it. Gold lending carries three inherent risks: valuation, custody and cash. Capital
Trust has built a technology control into each of them. A-Eye, the Company’s AI system, independently
checks every valuation and every sealed packet; Head Office controls approvals, disbursement and strong
room access remotely; and an app-based model removes cash from the branch altogether.
From pilot to platform. Launched in October 2025 from two branches in Aligarh and Delhi, the business
now runs six dedicated gold loan branches disbursing ₹5–6 Cr a month. Cumulative disbursements exceed
₹45 Cr across 1,800+ customers, and gold and secured loan AUM stands at ₹35 Cr. The first branch,
Aligarh, has disbursed over ₹19 Cr in eleven months and turned profitable in its fourth month. The same
playbook and the same technology stack run in all six branches.
A-Eye: an independent third eye
A-Eye does two jobs that, in a conventional gold branch, depend entirely on branch staff: valuing the gold
and guarding it. It works independently of staff input, it watches round the clock, and it time-stamps
every reading and every movement. The result is a complete, reviewable record for every ornament and
every packet, from the testing table to the safe and back.
1. Valuation risk: A-Eye Valuation Guard
Every ornament is assayed in front of the customer, on camera, and valued three times:
■ Two blind human valuations. Two testers, acting as maker and checker, test the ornament on
separate calibrated machines without seeing each other’s result.
■ A-Eye valuation. A-Eye independently generates its own karat, weight and value. Any variance
against the testers is flagged before disbursal.
■ Confirmation and approval. The Branch Manager confirms the final value after reviewing all three.
Head Office then reviews all valuation data, gives final approval and disburses.
Valuers at a central hub supervise every assay live, and every valuation is retained for audit and dispute
resolution. No ornament is valued on one person’s judgement, and staff–customer collusion has no single
point to work through.
2. Custody risk: A-Eye Security Guard
Once pledged, each packet is tracked by A-Eye across its full journey:
■ Sealing and placement. Packets are sealed in front of the customer. A-Eye verifies the packet
number and its placement before storage.
■ Storage and access. A continuous, time-stamped visual record covers the strong room and safe.
Any off-pattern access is flagged to Head Office in real time.

BSE: 511505 | NSE: CAPTRUST
■ Daily reconciliation. Every packet is reconciled every day.
■ Return. Before release, A-Eye confirms it is the same packet at the same weight. Gold is handed
back only after a live photo and Aadhaar match.
A-Eye sits within an 18-layer security architecture. Branch entry and the strong room are controlled from
Head Office, the branch locks down automatically whenever the strong room opens, the inner safe is
locked remotely by Head Office, and intrusion detection and silent panic alarms back up every branch.
3. Cash risk: Zero-Cash Branch
Capital Trust’s gold branches have no cash counter. Every repayment is collected through the Company’s
app, and customers can top up against pledged gold 24/7 from the app, with charges shown upfront and
funds credited to their bank account. Branches are fully paperless: every record is digital and time-
stamped. The model is designed for 20-minute disbursal and 20-minute release.
One platform, controlled from Head Office
The technology connects four points of control: the branch, where assaying, sealing and storage are
captured on camera and in the system; A-Eye, which checks valuation and custody independently; Head
Office, which supervises assays live, approves and disburses every loan, and controls branch and strong
room access remotely; and the customer app, which handles repayment and top-up. The same platform
runs the Company’s two live gold loan co-lending partnerships, with escrow flows, real-time tracking,
reconciliation and reporting handled digitally. Every new branch goes live on the full stack from day one.
Funding. The gold loan business has received term loan sanctions from IDFC FIRST Bank and Shriram
Finance.
Company position. On a provisional basis for Q2FY27, AUM stood at about ₹300 Cr, up from ₹239.6 Cr in
Q1FY27, with about 80% secured or carrying zero credit risk. Gross NPA was about 2.5%, Net NPA 0.0%,
and debt to tangible net worth below 1x. These figures are unaudited and subject to Board approval.
“We built technology into the three places where risk sits in gold lending: valuation, custody and cash.
A-Eye is an independent third eye on every ornament and every sealed packet. It values without staff
input, watches custody round the clock and logs every step, while final approval and disbursement sit
with Head Office. That is what allows us to replicate the Aligarh playbook branch after branch without
diluting control.”
— Vahin Khosla, Joint Managing Director
