Best Buy’s Global Capability Center in India to transition to TCS
The strategic deal will bring Best Buy™ India capabilities into TCS, creating an AI-centered technology
and innovation hub grounded in deep retail expertise
MINNEAPOLIS | MUMBAI, October 1, 2026: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS) and
Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) today announced an agreement to transition Best Buy’s Global Capability Center
(GCC) in India to TCS. The agreement will combine the GCC’s deep retail and enterprise knowledge with
TCS’s technology, engineering, AI and global delivery capabilities to accelerate innovation, scale AI-
powered solutions and deliver greater business value.
As part of the agreement, the Best Buy™ India entity will transition to TCS, ensuring business continuity;
while embarking on its transformation into an AI-native Capability Center (AICC) under a multi-year
agreement. Leveraging TCS’ Global Value & Innovation Centres framework, teams will redesign workflows,
develop AI-powered experiences and solutions, and scale capabilities across the business, transitioning
into an AI Capability Center over time.
Krishnan Ramanujam, President, Consumer Business Group, TCS, said, “Best Buy has built a strong
technology organization with deep knowledge of its customers and business. By bringing that talent
together with TCS’ retail expertise, AI, engineering and global execution capabilities, we will create an AI-
native capability engine that aligns Best Buy’s priorities. This partnership will also create a repeatable
value platform that can potentially benefit the broader retail industry.”
Ahrey Smith, Vice President of Technology Strategy and Transformation, Best Buy, said “Our India team
has played an important role in advancing Best Buy’s priorities, and we wanted a partner that understood
both the business context and the value of this team. TCS brings that understanding, along with the
technology and AI capabilities to build on the team’s strengths and meaningful opportunities for
employees to continue learning and growing in their careers.”
TCS will welcome Best Buy India employees into its global organization, preserving the deep business and
technology knowledge to advance Best Buy priorities while opening access to TCS’ global learning and
innovation ecosystem, AI skills and global opportunities. The partnership also demonstrates TCS’ end-to-
end GCC capabilities, from building and scaling capability centers to transforming them into AI-led engines
of innovation and enterprise value.
