Ashok Shri K R Ashok is a former Executive Director of LIC of India. He joined LIC of India as a Direct Recruit Officer in 1989 and retired as Executive Director (Actuarial) in May 2025. He possesses a Degree in Mathematics from the University of Madras. Over 36 years of service at LIC of India, Shri Ashok gained experience in various aspects of the Life Insurance business in India and abroad (UK). He worked across all operational areas in branch offices in India, including Sales, underwriting, accounting, customer service, and claims management. In the early years at the corporate office, he assisted the appointed actuary in valuing the life business. He also served as Head of the Group business actuarial team before he was selected to head the UK operations of LIC in 2015. He held the regulatory-approved role of Head of the Third Country Branch in the UK, where he was responsible for implementing Solvency II in 2016. On his return, he was promoted as Chief (Actuarial), and he headed the task force for the implementation of the new Actuarial IT system – Prophet before the IPO of LIC.
