Thanking you, Yours faithfully, For Manali Petrochemicals Limited G Sri Vignesh Company Secretary Encl.: As above CHAIRMAN'S SPEECH Dear Shareholders, Good evening, It gives me great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all of you at the 40th Annual General Meeting of Manali Petrochemicals Limited. On behalf of my colleagues on the Board, I thank you for attending this AGM. I hope you have had the opportunity to review the Annual Report as circulated and take note of the operational and financial performance of your Company during the year 2025-26. Since we met last year, the world around us has changed significantly. Geopolitical tensions have moved from being distant events to becoming direct business realities, affecting trade, supply chains, costs and, increasingly, the way businesses think about risk. I believe this is not a passing phase. This is the new normal in which we have to operate. Economic Overview The global economy continued to navigate a complex and uncertain environment during FY 2025–26. The International Monetary Fund currently projects global growth of around 3% in 2026. Against this backdrop, India has continued to distinguish itself as one of the fastest growing Emerging Market economies. The country’s real GDP is estimated to have grown by 7.4% in FY 2025–26, supported by domestic consumption, services activity, public investment and improving manufacturing momentum. Policy initiatives focused on strengthening domestic manufacturing, improving ease of doing business, developing supply-chain resilience and promoting self-reliance continue to create a constructive environment for Indian industries. The global petrochemicals industry, however, continued to face challenging conditions. Persistent capacity additions in certain overseas markets, especially in Asia, weak demand recovery in some end-use sectors and pricing pressures arising from imports have affected product realisations and margins. These factors have reinforced the need for Indian producers to remain focused on cost competitiveness, product quality, operational efficiency and customer-centric innovation. At the same time, the long-term outlook for the Indian chemicals and petrochemicals sector remains encouraging. Chemicals and petrochemicals account for more than 8% of India’s manufacturing gross value added, underscoring the sector’s significance to the country’s industrial value chain. Rising demand from automobiles, construction, consumer durables, packaging, infrastructure, textiles and healthcare continues to provide a strong foundation for future growth. Within this broader landscape, specialty and performance chemicals offer meaningful opportunities. Customers are increasingly seeking solutions that deliver improved performance, energy efficiency, safety, durability and sustainability. This trend is expected to support demand for differentiated and higher-value products, particularly in applications where technical capability, consistency of quality and application support are critical. The polyurethane industry in India is also expected to benefit from structural drivers such as urbanisation, rising household incomes, growth in automotive production, demand for insulation and energy-efficient buildings, expansion in appliances and consumer durables, and increasing adoption of modern materials across industries. For your Company, these developments reinforce the importance of disciplined execution, continuous improvement in operational efficiency, prudent cost management, product and market development, and a sustained focus on delivering value to customers and shareholders. PERFORMANCE DURING THE YEAR & BUSINESS UPDATES We will continue to move from commodity offerings to specialty products, enabling us to climb up the value chain and strengthen differentiation. Capacity and geographic expansion in India will further strengthen our market position and bring us closer to our customers. At the same time, product innovation, particularly in sustainable and carbon-neutral technologies that can help reduce the country’s import dependence, will remain a key priority as we prepare our business for the future. During FY 2025–26, your Company delivered a meaningful improvement in performance despite a business environment marked by volatile input costs, competitive import pricing and uneven demand conditions across certain end-use segments. On a standalone basis, the Company recorded total income of Rs.822 crore during the [Showing first 8,000 characters — download PDF for full document]
