KEY RATING DRIVERS
Credit Risk:
● Intense competition in the industry :
The acrylic fibre industry faces significant competition from more affordable substitutes like polyester and
the dumping of fibre by foreign producers. In fiscal 2024 and the first half of fiscal 2025, the domestic
market also experienced heightened competition from international exporters. Additionally, the industry
contends with import pressures driven by demand-supply imbalances and capacity constraints.
● Weak Financial position :
The company reported a net loss of Rs. 30.86 crore in FY25 and is further projected to incur a loss of Rs.
24.09 crore in FY26, reflecting continued weak profitability, though with gradual improvement in operating
performance. The net worth is also in negative territory;
Improving Operating Performance – EBITDA projected to increase from ₹1.72 Cr to ₹14.51 Cr.
Reduction in Interest Burden – Interest cost projected to reduce from ₹17.28 Cr to ₹6.05 Cr.
Improving Liquidity – Current Ratio projected to improve from 1.05x to 1.35x.
Credit Risk:
● High Leverage – Total Debt/TNW expected to remain at a very high level
● Weak Debt Servicing Capacity – DSCR expected to remain very low in FY27
● Weak Net Worth – TNW was negative at ₹12.98 Cr in FY26 and remains low even after projected
improvement.
ANALYTICAL APPROACH - Standalone
For arriving at its ratings, BWR has considered the standalone performance of Indian Acrylics Ltd.. BWR has
applied its rating methodology as detailed in the Rating Criteria (hyperlinks provided at the end of this rationale).
RATING SENSITIVITIES
Going forward, the ability of the company to improve its revenue and financial risk profile would remain the key
rating sensitivities.
Positive :
● Sustained improvement in operating performance – achievement of projected revenue of Rs. 400.00 Crs and
EBITDA of Rs.15.00 Crs
● Improvement in debt servicing capacity – sustained improvement in ISCR and DSCR.
● Strengthening of financial risk profile – improvement in TNW to Rs. 5.00 Crs and reduction in
leverage/debt.
Negative :
● Lower-than-expected business performance – failure to sustain the current levels of revenue and profitability.
● Further weakening of capital structure – increase in debt, negative/weak TNW or continued liquidity stress.
LIQUIDITY INDICATORS - Stretched
Current ratio is improving from 1.05x to 1.35x and 1.43x, showing that the company’s ability to meet short-term
liabilities is improving. The ratio remains low at 0.065x–0.086x, indicating that the company has limited cash
available for immediate payments.ISCR improves from 0.10x in FY26 to 2.40x in FY27 and 3.33x in FY28, showing
that the company’s ability to pay interest is improving significantly.DSCR is 0.11x in FY26 and projected at 0.95x in
FY27 and 0.60x in FY28. It remains below 1x, indicating weak debt repayment capacity. Cash and bank balance is
₹9.03 Cr in FY26, projected to increase to ₹10.53 Cr in FY27, but decline to ₹8.91 Cr in FY28. This indicates a
limited cash cushion for immediate obligations.
