Manikantha Company Secretary Membership No: A21918 PRESS RELEASE Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Inaugurates Advanced Mother and Child Centre at PGIMER, Chandigarh, Supported by Infosys Foundation • Infosys Foundation commits over INR 147 crore towards critical medical equipment for the institute’s Advanced Mother and Child Center • Over 25,000 pregnant women and newborns expected to benefit annually Bengaluru, India – July 22, 2026: Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, today announced the inauguration of an advanced mother and neonatal care facilities wing at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, which will help strengthen the institute’s maternity and neonatal care facilities. Through this collaboration, Infosys Foundation committed a grant of over INR 147 crore towards critical medical equipment for the institute’s newly opened Advanced Mother and Child Centre (AMCC), which will help reduce maternal and neonatal mortality rates and provide low-income families access to high-quality and affordable healthcare. The Advanced Mother and Child Centre (AMCC) was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, in the presence of; Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT Chandigarh; Shri J.P. Nadda, Hon’ble Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare; Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Railways; Shri Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh; Mr. Sunil Kumar Dhareshwar, Trustee, Infosys Foundation; Prof Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, along with other senior government officials and executives. The AMCC is equipped with triage and emergency services for pregnant women, labor and delivery units, resuscitation facilities, obstetric intensive care and high dependency units for specialized care, neonatal intensive care units, modular operation theatres, a blood bank, a human milk bank, and a kangaroo mother care ward, among other care facilities. The center will aim to benefit over 25,000 pregnant women and newborns annually.
