The commissioning ceremony, held at Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE), also marked the induction of INS Sandhayak, apart from INS Dunagiri and INS Agray into the Indian Navy. The systems supplied to the two ships have been successfully type-tested and commissioned for onboard operational use by the Indian Navy, reinforcing SRL's capabilities in delivering critical HVAC solutions for defence applications. Mr. R. G. Shende, Chairman and Managing Director of Shree Refrigerations Limited said, "This is only the second occasion in the history of the Indian Navy that three ships have been commissioned together, following the historic commissioning of INS Nilgiri, INS Surat and INS Vaghsheer in January 2025. The significance of this milestone can be gauged from the fact that Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself commissioned the ships on both occasions. Shree Refrigeration AC Plants were similarly installed on two of the three naval platforms - INS Nilgiri and INS Vaghsheer – in 2025 too. It is an honour and a matter of immense pride for us that we have supplied AC Plants to two of the three platforms commissioned on both occasions."
