NLC India Limited a
It’s been nearly seven decades since we have been mining lignite to power the nation.
Often dubbed ‘brown coal’, lignite is crucial as an abundant, low-cost, and reliable
domestic fuel to produce electricity. As the country’s largest lignite miner, we have
been serving India through every phase of its development.
Our Navratna status makes us responsive to an evolving market dynamics and keeps
us responsible for India’s economic progress. Our commitment to the making of a
developed India reflects in our resolve to stay in sync with the transition sweeping
through the power sector. While keeping the core intact, we are building our
renewable capacity steadily, holding firm on the reliability the country depends on.
This steady shift towards renewables makes the theme for this year's annual report.
The document reflects the dynamism of a company that is stepping up, gaining pace
and building strength for the road ahead.
At NLC India, we define resilience as the ability to prepare for tomorrow based on
today’s performance. We are running our mines and power stations at their best and,
at the same time, raising our renewable capacity and opening new lines of growth in
energy storage, critical minerals and clean technologies.
This momentum draws on the financial strength that funds our growth, the capability
and the drive of our people, the research and partnerships that carry us from a
resource base to create value for our stakeholders and build their confidence in us.
These forces complement one another, keeping us resilient and in step with a rapidly
changing landscape.
