India’s growth story is being built in steel, infrastructure, energy
transition assets and industrial capacity. At the heart of that story
is iron ore: a mineral that does not merely feed furnaces, but
enables roads, railways, ports, cities, manufacturing and national
resilience.
In FY 2025-26, NMDC crossed a defining threshold, producing 53
million tonnes of iron ore and reinforcing its role as India’s largest
iron ore producer. This achievement reflects more than scale. It
reflects the strength of an integrated mining system: ore body
knowledge, safe operations, processing capability, evacuation
infrastructure, customer responsiveness and disciplined execution
working together.
“Powering the Nation. Sustaining the Future.” captures this dual
responsibility. NMDC is powering the nation by securing the raw
material base for India’s steel-led development. It is sustaining the
future by expanding with responsibility: investing in technology,
improving operational efficiency, strengthening logistics,
deepening environmental stewardship and preparing for a lower-
impact, more resilient mining model.
As NMDC advances towards its long-term capacity ambition, the
measure of progress will be broader than volume alone. It will
be the Company’s ability to deliver reliable supply, disciplined
growth, safer operations and responsible value creation. That is
the promise of this year’s theme: building the materials of national
progress while protecting the foundations of tomorrow.

Dear Stakeholders,
It gives me immense pleasure to present the Annual Report of NMDC Limited for FY
2025-26, a year marked by strong performance, significant milestones and continued
progress towards our long-term vision.
The year 2026 has marked an important chapter in our national journey. Despite
global economic and geopolitical uncertainties, India’s progress remains steady and
decisive. Our real GDP growth of 7.7% in FY26 reflects the strength of our economy and
investment momentum. India is also asserting leadership in technology, innovation and
global partnerships.
For NMDC, this has been a year replete with ‘Eureka’ moments where we discovered
and rediscovered our true calling and embarked on a journey of profound transformation
to harness our real potential. In FY26, we became the first mining company in India
to produce more than 50 million tonnes of iron ore in a single year, achieving record
production of 53.16 million tonnes and sales of 50.24 million tonnes, scripting history
on stone. The numbers reflect an increase of 20.62% in production and 13.15% in sales
year on year, which have been achieved organically, by optimizing and exceeding
the capacities and capabilities of the existing production and sales equipments and
infrastructure. NMDC has proved its resilience with such a quantum jump in production
in a single year which is unprecedented and unparalleled in the industry. Through this
commendable performance, NMDC has genuinely contributed to the strengthening of
the foundation for India’s infrastructure and industrial growth.
This operational excellence was naturally reflected in the financial performance of the
Company which registered new echelons in turnover and other financial parameters..
Revenue from operations increased by 33.31% to `31,554 crore, Profit After Tax rose
by 10.88% to
