The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs, met the executives of TCML on September 8, 2026, and had a fruitful engagement regarding the matters raised by the Ministry. To facilitate a comprehensive and timely resolution of the matters, it was agreed to establish a high-level technical committee. The Committee will be led by the Principal Secretary for Mining on behalf of the Ministry and the Chief Executive Officer of TCML on its behalf. The Committee will undertake a detailed technical review of all matters, prepare and submit a report to the office of the Cabinet Secretary for consideration and further direction. This is also to establish a sustainable framework that promotes responsible mining, value addition, community development and mutually beneficial partnerships.
