CHAIRMAN’S
MMeessssaaggee
Dear Shareholders,
It gives me immense pleasure to address
you on the occasion of the 82nd Annual
General Meeting of The Fertilisers
and Chemicals Travancore Limited
and to present the performance of your
Company for the financial year 2025–26.
At the outset, I extend my sincere
gratitude to all our shareholders for your
continued trust and confidence in FACT.
FACT’s journey is unique in the history
of Indian industry. Established in 1943
and commencing production in 1947,
FACT pioneered large-scale fertiliser
manufacturing in independent India. For
more than eight decades, this institution
has stood alongside the Indian farmer,
contributing to agricultural productivity,
food security and national development.
Generations of FACT employees have
built this institution through dedication,
technical excellence, resilience and a
deep sense of responsibility. Today, as
we look towards the future, we carry
forward that proud legacy with a renewed ambition. Our objective is not merely to preserve what has
been created over the last eight decades. Our objective is to build a larger, stronger, more integrated
and more resilient FACT for the decades ahead.
A YEAR OF RESILIENCE
The financial year 2025–26 was undoubtedly a challenging year for the fertiliser industry. Geopolitical
developments, particularly continuing uncertainty in West Asia, disrupted international supply
chains and caused substantial volatility in the prices of critical raw materials.
For FACT, the impact was particularly significant because sulphur, sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid,
ammonia and natural gas are important inputs for our operations. Sharp escalation in sulphur and
sulphuric acid prices, adverse foreign-exchange movements and constraints in the availability of RLNG
placed considerable pressure on operating margins. Against this difficult environment, your Company
recorded Revenue from Operations of `5,723.76 crore and reported a loss of `39.60 crore for the year.
While the financial result reflects the extraordinary external cost pressures experienced during the
year, I believe it is equally important to look at the strength of our underlying operations. Despite
these challenges, FACT achieved fertiliser production of 11.13 lakh metric tonnes, comprising
approximately 8.30 lakh MT of Factamfos and 2.83 lakh MT of Ammonium Sulphate. Our total
sales, including traded products, reached 13.37 lakh MT.
Chairman’s Message
Ammonium Sulphate sales increased by approximately 12%, from 2.67 lakh MT to nearly 3 lakh MT.
NP fertiliser sales increased by approximately 11%, reaching almost 8 lakh MT. We also recorded
an all-time high sale of 27,505 MT of organic fertilisers, including products promoted under PM-
PRANAM. These numbers tell an important story. FACT faced strong external headwinds, but the
organisation did not lose its operational momentum, its market presence or the confidence of the
farming community. That resilience gives us confidence as we move forward.
STRENGTHENING OUR MARKET
During the year, FACT continued to strengthen and diversify its market presence. Traditionally, FACT
has enjoyed a very strong position in South India, particularly in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka,
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Our flagship NPK grade 20:20:0:13 continued to command a market
share exceeding 30% in South India, reflecting the strength and credibility of the FACT brand.
At the same time, we have begun expanding beyond our traditional territories. During the year,
FACT entered newer markets including Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh. We also broadened our
product basket through imported DAP, imported TSP and traded SSP. This represents an important
