facility at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh
Milestone reinforces CG’s commitment to strengthening India’s power infrastructure, advancing
Aatmanirbhar Bharat and building world-class transformer capabilities for India and global markets
Sehore, Bhopal, India, September 4, 2026:
CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. (CG), an engineering conglomerate and a leader in electrical
engineering industry, today announced the rollout of the first power transformer from its new greenfield
facility at Sehore, Madhya Pradesh. Spread over 50 acres, this facility is India’s largest single-location
power transformer manufacturing facility built for 220 kV to 1200 kV class power transformers with a
capacity to rollout 35 power transformers every month. Gracing the occasion of the first transformer
rollout was the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav.
Hon'ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, said, “Power is a critical component
in achieving our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. A facility such as
this one, strengthens India’s capability in high-voltage transmission equipment and supports our
transition from a power-deficit to a power-sufficient nation. Additionally, industrial investment of this
nature in Madhya Pradesh generates opportunity for the local youth and uplifts communities. This facility
from CG will create over 2000 direct and indirect employment in Sehore. Our government will continue
to ensure that every investment proposal signed in Madhya Pradesh becomes a working factory on the
ground and continues to benefit the people of Madhya Pradesh.”
Mr. Vellayan Subbiah, Chairman, CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, said, “India is on
track to become the world’s third largest economy by 2030 and with it the demand of electricity will
increase. CG has been among the pioneers of electrical infrastructure equipment including transformers
and switchgears for close to nine decades and this legacy is showcased at our new Sehore facility. Built
at scale to manufacture the world’s largest power transformers, this facility will supplement the demand
for power infrastructure equipment and also contribute to exports.”
Amar Kaul, Group CEO and Managing Director, CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited said,
“When the Hon’ble Chief Minister performed the bhoomi pujan of this plant in August 2025, we
committed to building it at speed. The first transformer rollout today is a tangible outcome of agility,
collaboration and ownership mindset with which the facility was built. Bringing this facility to life within
13 -14 months was made possible through the immense support of the Madhya Pradesh Government,
and our execution excellence engine – CG EDGE. Cross-functional teams worked as #OneCG to
accelerate execution while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.”
The facility strengthens CG's ability to serve critical sectors such as utilities, data centres, railways,
renewable energy, oil and gas, and transmission infrastructure projects, globally. It will also support the
