The SCN proposes a GST demand aggregating to Rs. 164,13,53,222/-, including applicable interest and penalty, for the financial year 2022-23, in relation to alleged mismatch between input tax credit reported in GST returns under the separate GST registration obtained for the Bank’ Bullion business vertical. The Bank is in the process of reviewing SCN and will submit its response to concerned authority within the prescribed timelines. Based on its preliminary assessment, the proposed demand primarily arises due to an erroneous comparison and reconciliation of returns/data. The Bank is of the view that its position is supported by records and reconciliations. Based on the current facts and assessment, the Bank does not expect the matter to have any material adverse impact on its operations or financial position.
