The company's manufacturing facilities at Hisar, Haryana and Jajpur, Odisha were recognised across four award categories for their sustained efforts in energy conservation, decarbonisation, and implementation of best-in-class energy management practices. The Hisar unit received the National Award for Best Energy Efficient Case Study and the National Award for Best Case Study on Low Carbon/Carbon Neutral Initiative. The award-winning initiatives included waste heat recovery systems, adoption of heater-less vaporisers, renewable energy integration, energy-efficient equipment upgrades, and green hydrogen applications. Over the last four years, the unit has successfully implemented 112 energy efficiency projects, resulting to a cumulative greenhouse gas emission reduction of 584,903 tCO₂e through renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives. The Jajpur unit was recognised under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) PAT/CCTS Scheme and for the Effective Implementation of ISO 50001 Energy Management System. Its award-winning initiatives included the installation of a Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB), adoption of the Melt Control System in the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), optimisation of the Reheating Furnace (RHF), optimisation of the Chrome Palletisation Plant, and integration of renewable energy. Over the last four years, the unit has successfully implemented more than 100 energy conservation projects, resulting in a cumulative carbon emission reduction of over 471,398 tCO₂e.
